[samigo-team] Ability to set alternate dates and time limits, take 2

Hi
Since these are just pixels on a screen, sure, anything is possible. But seriously, yes, I would hope that you can add exceptions after initial publication. However, we need some developers to discuss how that would work.

I'll look over Jackie's notes to see if there is other things I missed from the discussion.

Hi Keli,

One of the things that we talked about in the conference call was how to handle these exceptions once the tests have been published. Right now, any changes that are made to group delivery cannot be done once the test has been published.

Most of these exceptions end up happening after the test has already been taken by some students...need extended due date due to illness, etc. Also, our disability students have two weeks to inform the instructor that they need accommodations, so these usually need to be handled after a few tests have started. Would it be possible for these settings to be changed after a test is published?

Thanks! :)
Joni

Hi folks,
Thanks for all the feedback on the design. I have taken a second stab which is significantly different in several ways.
1) removed idea of having to select whether selected groups share dates and times or have different dates and times. There will only be one default
2) made default for alternate override dates and times to be "same as default"
3) stopped trying to guess how to handle conflicts but offer more information and guided shortcuts
4) utilizes autocompletion to allow users to simply type names of groups and individuals directly into field
5) perpetual new item row so you don't need to click a button to type next exception

I hope you agree it's an improvement, though I still expect there to be feedback.

If there are no other agenda items, we can review this during our meeting on 8/7

Note, Luke Fernandez would also like to talk about a lockdown browser he has developed--I have suggested 8/21 unless anyone has a pressing need to see this first.
