Sure, Lynn. Does anyone else have an agenda item to discuss during this
call? If not, maybe we should cancel for this week.

I will be at EDUCAUSE on Tuesday, and probably won't be on the call. Can
we postpone the discussion about settings until the following call?
Regarding the ability of individuals and groups to have additional
settings, I posted a design from Kristol at:
https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAM-1408 that might provide a
starting point. Agree that hiding the settings behind multiple disclosure
panel. Personally, aside from specific needs and pain points, I'd like to
see this group completely rethink the organization and presentation of the
settings screen.

Wow Lynn, I don't want to respond for the team because we haven't
discussed, but this is pretty comprehensive and compelling. Let's add
this to the agenda for Tuesday.

As far as additional settings-related issues, I would add ability to allow
individuals or groups to have different settings (change due date, give
additonal time) for a test. And possibly, the fact that the default
settings are buried in the accordion and can be bypassed during
publication--this is slightly better with the notification message that is
displayed as users are about to publish.

Hi Lynn,

Thanks a lot for the email. All the detail explanation and analysis are
really helpful.

Just two quick notes:

· For assessments that accept late submissions , the Due Date determines
the date after which any submission will be flagged as late. The
assessment continues to be visible in the student¹s ³Take an Assessment²
list after the Due Date has passed, but the date changes from black to red
indicating the late status. In the instructor view, the assessment moves
from the Active to the Inactive group (NB: the assessment should probably
remain active since student can still take it).

This is fixed in https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAM-749 in 2.9.

· For timed assessments that don¹t allow late submissions , the timer is
automatically adjusted if the time between when the student started and
the Due Date is less than the time limit.

This is fixed in https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAM-1208 in 2.9 too.

Hope these two fixes save some work on this Setting task :)

Thanks,
Karen
