[sakai2-tcc] [cle-release-team] New LTI for 2.9.3

There are currently pretty nasty bugs in the latest release that pertain to grading. IMHO, getting a newer version out there should be the priority (and if I am understanding correctly, what the release team is trying to do).
Fwiw we also rehash release mgmt. strategy each time something becomes debatable; making everything drag out longer.

Maybe... But our classic release risk management strategy* leaves adopters in a pinch. If we have no identified plan for 2.9.4, we fall back into the "run the branch" mantra. This is the same self-defeat cycle our releases have suffered for years.
I'm not saying the maintenance branch should get 50 patches the day before a release, but realistically, I don't see 2.9.4 shaping up before 2014 unless some priorities and processes are adjusted. I'd have to look at the survey results, but I'd give it a 50/50 chance that someone will run a release to start 2014 -- and they'll either be on some homegrown release point with unknown fixes, or they'll be missing stuff that is done in early July. I don't anticipate any two major deployments using the same starting point.
Maybe it's time to get serious about solving this?
Thanks,
-Noah

It's pretty late to be talking about changes for 2.9.3 . . . I'd encourage inclusion in the branch *after* 2.9.3 is cut.
Gotta manage the scope :)

urgg... sorry. My Mac just seems to want to randomly send unfinished emails (well, okay probably user error , but I cannot figure out what I'm doing!)
In any case, I was going to say that of these issues, the main one that I have a concern about is
https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/BLTI-238
because of the "Not Null" constraint removal. Are we sure that auto.dll will take care of this update and not require a conversion script?
Also, do you know of any available LTI testers who can help with QA?
Thanks!

Hi Chuck,
The main concern is that they get sufficient testing, in a timely way. I don't think we would want to hold up 2.9.3 for these fixes but it would be good to get them in.

They are on the way to the branch and I am running them in production on my Blackboard servers. Not heavy production - but I am testing them.

Looks like these are not in 2.9.x yet. Is that right?
