+1 - move forward - no one will criticize us. Better that they be out than sitting there unannounced.

> Hi all -- please vote by the end of this week on the proposal that we retroactively announce the availability of 2.7.2 and 2.8.1. As a reminder, this is a public, on-list vote with a "+1" signifying approval. Per our governance documents, a -1 vote must be accompanied by a detailed explanation. A single -1 vote based on a material objection will block action. However, -1 blocking votes can be overridden by a 2/3 majority roll call vote of active TCC members.

I'd like to put to a vote that we retroactively announce these two releases in the announcement mentioned below (with any suggested changes). I'd like to separate the issue of whether or not we pursue a 2.7.3 & 2.8.2 release, based on available resources. If we have any volunteers willing to act as release managers and put together a new maintenance release for either branch, please let me know.

It's been pointed out to me that we never made a formal announcement of either (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), but I think that given the change in Anthony's responsibilities, it's likely that this was missed.

Please let me know by the end of this week of any issues that you think should be addressed prior to a formal, retroactive announcement. Following this discussion, I'll put it to a vote.
