[sakai2-tcc] Update: status of sakai-2.8.1

The sakai-2.8.1 release branch has been prepped for release and like sakai-2.7.2 sits on the launch pad awaiting resolution of remaining blockers (see below).  I've also asked Rob Egan and Corey McGarrahan if they could organize a 2.8.1 test fest early next week in order to double check the release from a functional perspective.

NEW KERNEL RELEASE REQUIRED (kernel-1.2.5)

sakai-2.8.1 currently binds to kernel-1.2.5-SNAPSHOT and a final kernel release is required before sakai-2.8.1 is released.


QA SERVERS

I've asked QA server admins to update 2.8 QA servers by downloading and installing the release branch.
