[sakai2-tcc] Sakai 2.8 - CKEditor

The tricky bit is that the API is different. Native FCKeditor plugins will need some level of rewrite.

This is a big reason that I'm calling for the editor to be available but not the default. Things like the entity picker, movie plugin, citations helper, Kaltura plugin, assignments 2, and probably others will need attention over time. I can't commit to finding and fixing everything.

The most important to me was the file browser, which is working for browsing, attaching, and uploading.

I also have some custom code that tweaks the editor at runtime for styles and implements some autosaving, which I ported pretty easily. But it was a port.

We may be able to provide a minimal adapter and write to that, but it's not clear to me how sensible that is past the most basic stuff like GetXHTML -> getData, IsDirty -> checkDirty and so on. I haven't studied the differences in the plugin models much yet.

Thanks,
-Noah

I've been working up a mechanism to "push down" the editor selection and binding so there would be less ongoing maintenance of the UI toolkits. It works well, but needs to be cleaned up a bit.

I would encourage that at least one QA server enable it and that we do some significant functional testing. There will be configuration settings that we want to adjust and bugs that we should fix. The user experience also has some changes that should be understood and documented plainly before changing the default editor.

Barring objections, these changes would be checked into the main lines (trunk) for each affected module.
