[Using Sakai] Digital dropbox for virtual writing help

Good afternoon,

Does your institution use any form of a centralized, digital paper drop-off
where students can receive personalized feedback on their writing?  At UD,
we have an on-campus center where students can come and receive writing
help.  We would like to extend that service to our online learners.
Ideally, we would like to create a tool that lives in the *My Workspace*
menu where students could digitally drop-off their papers and the writing
consultant could deliver feedback to them.  We do not want the students to
have to join a site to do this.  Obviously, we would not want others
(besides these two parties) to have permission to view the files or the
feedback.  Has anyone accomplished something similar?
