[Using Sakai] Rescoring quiz in Samigo after a change in correct answer

There is an instructor who gave an exam in samigo including a "fill in the blank" question type.
For the correct answer possibilities, he put in two words. After everyone has taken the quiz, now he wants to include a third word to count as correct. Is there a way to add an additional correct option and then regrade the whole quiz so that those with that 3rd response get the points for that question?

I tried my own test where I edited the question and added an additional correct response in the published exam and then clicked "regrade and Republish" but it didin't modify the grade of the demo student that enter the option. I don't want to risk having everyone have to retake the exam.
Thanks,
