Is your custom published anywhere? I would like to take a look on it.

Changing the site id in the URL only works if the images are copied in 
the new site. Does your patch duplicate them automatically? I'm not sure 
if this could be a solution for us, maybe it is a change too wide.

I think that every organization that uses the new MathML editor are 
going to suffer this issue when their users create equations in their 
question pools. Any other idea?
