It looks great! How do you handle links to assessments which are time based, I.e. If a student follows a link to an assignment or other item which is not yet published or past due, what occurs? Do you put text next to the link informing students of the open date/time and due date/time?

Subject: [Building Sakai] Announcing a turbo-charged editor for Sakai

Greetings, fellow members of the Sakai Community,

The UVaCollab (Sakai) team at the University of Virginia wants you to know about enhancements we have made to turbo-charge the FCKeditor in Sakai! We have extended the existing functionality of the editor’s Resources Browser that allows linking to content in Resources by adding the capability to also link to activities created in Assignments, Forums, and Tests & Quizzes. We call this turbo-charged functionality RALE: Resources and Activities Linking Editor.

Check out this short (< 5min) video to see this functionality in action and discover how it can transform an instructor’s ability to structure delivery of content to students in their course sites:

   https://collab.itc.virginia.edu/docs/videos/rale/rale-video.html

For more details about these enhancements and to learn about our solution for migrating these embedded links from one site to another when using site duplication or import from site, come to our session at the Jasig-Sakai Conference in Atlanta:

   https://wiki.jasig.org/display/JCON/2012-06-13+Link+Migration%3A+UVa%27s+Solution+to+Re-Using+Site+Content

We’ll also be at the Tech Demo on Wednesday evening to demo and answer questions. See you in Atlanta!
