Hi Rajan:

Maybe is not the solution to your problem and the real solution will require
development, but maybe you can avoid that development doing something like
this:

You can create sites with the e-lessons and the exams (we will call them
second level sites) and then create several sites one for each group (high
level sites). Give access to the people in the high level sites to the
“second level sites” to do the exams and the e-lessons
 you can use
hierarchy for that.

So you can have something hierarchical like this

High level site

GROUP 1

GROUP2

 GROUP3

Second level sites

Exam A

Exam B

Exam A

Second level sites

Exam B

Exam C

Exam C

Second level sites

e-Lesson 1

e-Lesson 2

e-Lesson 3

Second level sites

e-Lesson 3

e-Lesson 3

Or you can do it a little more complex (we have done this in a real
customer): Remove the site.visit to all the students in the “second level
site” and put in each of the “high level sites” a link to the e-lesson o to
the test in the resources. So each student can do the tests or study the
e-lessons from their own site but the results are all centralized in the
second level site.

In that case, maybe the problem can be in gradebook. The scores will be in
the second level sites. We have solved it in the customer with a
personalized report tool that mixes the scores in the “high level site” with
the scores in the second level sites. But this requires development

I know my explanation (that try to be short) can be a little “dark” so if
you need more detail, please, ask to me.

Asunto: [Using Sakai] challenge in of reflecting a (same) e-Lesson status
across all published course sites

Dear all

We are a big company, using Sakai CLE as a supplement for our internal
training process.

We provide various in-house training programs to our employees and now
offering training using eLearning as one of the knowledge delivery tool to
educate/train employees.

These training programs are role based, generic, essential and a mix of all
of these.

I am posting a challenge faced by us in implementation of Sakai CLE ( this
is one of our major requirement).

The case:

Ø We have designed(published) various course sites containing a group of
e-Lessons.

Ø These published course sites contains same lessons (one or more) as one
of the subject.

* For ex: lesson 'A' can be used in more than one published site .

Now the challenge is:

If a user does/attempts/completes one lesson in one of the published course
sites

Ø The same status is not reflecting at other sites

Ø The same challenge we are facing in “Tests and quiz (tool)” also.

Our requirement is:

Ø If a student completes one lesson/test in any of the sites (published)

* Can the status of the lesson/test be replicated across all sites?

* Will it be possible to implement the above kind of requirement?

The success of the project is depending upon addressing the above based on
your feedback.

Please help us in resolving this. (if this is not the forum to post this
message can you please provide the details of contact team)
