All,
We have encountered a problem when an instructor grades a forum that is in the Gradebook in a weighted category.
Information:
1. Sakai 2.7.x (r. 89149)
2. JForum 2.8.1
3. Gradebook 1
Scenario:
1. JForum forum is created with a group access and grading enabled
2. The gradebook item that is created is added to a weighted category in Gradebook
3. Then instructor adds grades for the students in that forum and presses "Release evaluated posts" or "Update"
4. The gradebook item is deleted and recreated, removing it from the weighted category previously set
5. The instructor then has to re-add it to the category
6. Rinse and repeat any time a forum is graded
Things I noticed:
1. Upon releasing or updating, the row in GB_GRADABLE_OBJECT_T is removed and recreated with a new ID
2. All the associated rows in GB_GRADE_RECORD_T are deleted and recreated to associate with #1 above
3. The category ID is now set to 'null' in #1
Is this the expected behavior? This seems like overkill when a score is updated. Not to mention, it frustrates many end users when they have to re-add the GB item to the category every time a score is added.
Help/suggestions please?
Thanks,
Bob
