[Using Sakai] csv to glossary xml

Does anyone have a script to convert a CSV file to the (rather ugly)
Sakai glossary XML? It's easy enough to write, but I'm busy/lazy.

Aside: is there really no schema anywhere for this?

Also, why are CDATA sections used everywhere for the content? I
actually started to write a little schema with a small HTML subset
available for the long description. Unfortunately, Sakai ignores that
content.
