[Using Sakai] Portfolios after graduation

Good Afternoon,
 
We are interested to hear what institutions are doing with student portfolios after a student graduates.  Do you make the contents available to the students?  If so, how?  How long do you retain the information?  
 
We've piloted a portfolio project for 4 years and have hit the "Now what?" phase.
