Today's Conference Call:

In preparation for taking notes, I have set up a meeting page on Confluence:
  http://confluence.sakaiproject.org/display/PED/20+Oct+2010+Conference+Call
It links to an Etherpad for collaborative note-taking.

On both pages, I have sketched a few agenda items, starting with reports from the sub-groups. Please add any that occur to you.

Subject: [Using Sakai] Rough Agenda > Re: Monthly Sakai Teaching and Learning Update Call

Colleagues,

A few people have asked about the agenda for this monthly meeting.

My inclination is to follow the same basic format as the prior monthly calls as they have seemed to work well but if others have suggestions for changes please let me/us know. Thus, what I'd anticipate is having a representative from each of the primary teaching and learning sub-groups briefly highlight major outcomes from the last month's work as well as areas in which you need input, feedback or additional people to help. We can then do a short Q&A so that the larger group can ask questions and get clarification on topics.

If we have time and there are folks on the call who can speak to it, I'm personally interested in the work that the Portfolio group has been doing (I believe Janice Smith has been leading this but I'm sure others have been contributing significantly as well) around visioning for Sakai 3 and the future of portfolios. So, if we can make time for this additional update I'd be interested in allocating some time.

Last a logistical note, I may need to exit the call 5-10 minutes early as I'm "closing" on a mortgage refinance and need to attend a final "signing" towards the end of the hour.

Josh

Tomorrow the Sakai Teaching and Learning community will hold a monthly call at 5pm ET. The purpose of the monthly calls is to provide an update across the full teaching and learning community about the progress on the range of projects that this community is forwarding. The monthly call is a very efficient way to come up to speed on the work of this community.
