Greetings Sakai colleagues,

Thanks to everyone for their help and efforts so far; we are getting very close to a solid release.

Current 2.6.0 RC status follows below

*         2.6.0-rc04 - 21/May/09 - IN PROGRESS (may be cut earlier)

*         2.6.0-rc05 or Final Release - 29/May/09 - TENTATIVE

2.6.0 General Release Information

*         This release includes over 700 bug fixes and many enhancements, see Sakai 2.6 Overview<http://confluence.sakaiproject.org/confluence/display/REL/Sakai+2.6+Overview> for more information.

*         Sakai 2.6 Overview<http://confluence.sakaiproject.org/confluence/x/2QA2Aw>: on 29-Apr-2009 Peter A. Knoop<http://confluence.sakaiproject.org/confluence/display/~knoop> presented an overview of the changes and enhancements in the Sakai 2.6.0 release, relative to Sakai 2.5; PowerPoint slides available.

Disclaimer: testing a release candidate can sometimes reveal new blockers and depending on the nature and severity we may need to adjust the schedule accordingly.  The final release may be delayed until these significant issues are resolved.
