Kuali Foundation is switching to a comercial model:

They will be switching to AGPL.  My guess is that this will allow Kuali, Inc to deploy a super cloud service with secret sauce (like Canvas) that effectively allows them to claim open source while effectively freezing all other commercial companies out of the Kuali business.

Joel Dehlin (recently left Cavnas) will be the CEO of the new company.

Probably good news for Banner, Jenzabar, and Peoplesoft.

It sounds like the Kuali non-profit foundation will continue to collect money from universities and give it to the comany which the non-profit now has a stake in.
