[Building Sakai] Regarding software compatibility of Sakai 10.3

Sql server 2012 is not one of the databases that Sakai support. Surely you
can do some work to allow it, but it's not something simple at all.
Possible, but hard.

I don't know if someone in the community is using Sakai with Sql Server. If
so, surely they can contact you and help you. But I think no one (or very
very few) have done this.

Sakai is working fine (and tested) with MySQL and with Oracle. Something
out of this will need you to develop for use the new database and you to
test all, and no community support with your problems (not because we are
bad people, really becuase we are not using that database so we can't help
you)

Then... my recommendation is to change the rule of no using MySQL (or use
Oracle). Surely it is a rule, not a technical question, isn't it? I'm sure
this will be easier than make Sakai work with Sql Server.
