[Building Sakai] Poll Tool bug

I got this fixed and thought I should provide the solution. It was
pretty specific to my build. We use Sakora SIS to populate our courses
nightly and the version (truck_copy_2.6) I deployed into Sakai 2.9.3
caused the the Poll tool bug report. I removed it and deploed
sakora-csv-1.7 in the tags directory and everything worked after that.

The reason the polls tool source wasn’t in your source directory is
because in 2.9, polls was an “indie” tool and the source would only be
included in the sakai-2.9.3-all tag. Without the “-all” tag, during the
build a pre-built polls war is downloaded and deployed, rather than
built locally and deployed.
The polls version that comes with 2.9.3 is 1.5.3, but 1.5.x should have
more bug fixes in it.
As for your specific problem, I’m afraid I don’t have any real
knowledge to help at the moment.

Brett,
You can just build and deploy a single tool in Sakai.
Go into the polls tool source directory:
"cd {SAKAI_SRC_DIR}/polls”
and run the Maven build and deploy command:
“mvn -e clean install sakai:deploy
-Dmaven.tomcat.home={PATH_TO_TOMCAT}”
That will build and redeploy ONLY the Polls tool. Just restart Tomcat
and you’ll be all set!

Neal,
I have tried in our development environment and it operates the same
way. I have also tried in a clean copy of 2.9.3 and that works. I am
using MYSQL for database.
I am wondering, if there is a way just to try recompiling the poll
tool without redeploying the entire Sakai 2.9.3 source. I don't want to
overwrite any changes I have made since I deployed 2.9.3 if possible.

Greetings,
We just upgraded to Sakai 2.9.3 and for the most part everything has
run well. However we had an instructor try creating a Poll and got the
following bug report after clicking "Save and add options." Could I get
some direction/help on how to fix this problem? It comes up for everyone
that tries to use it.
