[Building Sakai] Samigo take assessment until a specified score

I have an instructor asking if Sakai can allow a student to take an assessment a set number of times or unlimited until they receive a specified score.  Once the score is achieved the system should display a message and/or not allow the student to take the assessment again.

My initial thought is to put the assessment into the Lessons Builder tool with a minimum score before they can continue with the lesson.   Although not all areas of the items in the Lessons Builder have the conditional release option (text, multimedia, etc.) using aniSakai version 2.9.1

Have others done this in any other ways?
I did a quick search in jira.sakaiproject.org for similar request to the samigo team but was not able to find anything.  Is a ticket in order?
