[Building Sakai] Legal and preferred first name?

Does Sakai support both the legal and preferred first names of users? For
instance, can it take both of them and use each in appropriate contexts? I
see that the JLDAP directory provider can use the preferred first name if
desired, but it appears that in that case, Sakai only knows of the
preferred first name.
