Hi Charles

Thanks for the reply.

We will be using the LTI portlet. I managed to switch of all the other options, except the gradebook routing. See the attached screenshot. This is what the portlet config looks like:

        <tool
                        id="unisa.assignments"
                        title="Assignments"
                        description="Unisa Assignments Tool">

                <configuration name="sakai:portlet-pre-render" value="true" />

                <category name="course" />
                <category name="project" />
                                        <category name="portfolio" />

                <configuration name="functions.require" />

                <configuration name="imsti.launch"
                   value="http://some.url.com" />
                <configuration name="imsti.xml" />
                <configuration name="imsti.secret" value="secret" />
                <configuration name="imsti.key" value="1" />

                <configuration name="imsti.pagetitle" value="Assignments" />

It depends on whether you are using the LTI portlet or the "External Tools" admin in Site Info and whether the instructor or system admin is entering the key/secret.

In general if this is a virtual tool that only the admin has the key/secret - then the admin can control whether teachers placing the tool see a grade tick box. But if this is more "mash up" - and the teachers are procuring ana managing keys and secrets - there is no good way to hide the option to send grades from an instructor other than turning off LTI grades completely.

Interestingly, other LMS systems chose to make it so instructors *never* see the tick box unless the admin installs the tool. That causes a different set of problems.

Hi

Is there a way to not show the option to Route Grades to Gradebook in the LTI tool?
