Hi,

Nice to hear that. We will just hide the Wiki tool for the moment.

For the working group, YES ABSOLUTELY i can be part of this.

However, I am not a professional programmer, but i can help in evaluating, finding and testing issues.

I can also help with the help documentation and translations.

Yours,
Alaa nizar

Hi Alaa,

The Wiki tool has not been getting much development attention for a while, except to keep it running and address security issues. The underlying open source Radeox engine, on which it is based, has not been kept current for a number of years. The consensus seems to be that re-doing the current wiki would be too much work, and there was talk that as Sakai evolves, eventually we might not be able to fix the wiki to keep up, possibly as early as Sakai 11.

Out of the Birds of a Feather (BoF) at the Open Apereo Conference, we are forming a team to investigate possible replacement Wikis for Sakai. Do you wish to participate on the team or be kept informed of it's findings?

Cheers,
Neal

Hello,

I have some remarks regarding the Wiki tool:

1. Can we integrate the FCKeditor in WIKI?

2. Can we have a button or link to add "New Page", instead of those formatting that students/faculty may find it difficult to work with?

3. Is there an alternative tool to the Wiki tool?

thank you
