[Building Sakai] Sign-up tool in sites with Very Large membership

At current Sakai 10 version, it will be automatically switched from participant's dropdown list to Textbox for userId when the participant's size in the site are over 600.

It works fine but only if the tool presents a "user ID" textbox for site maintainers to enter participants rather than a drop down.

It's possible to specify the threshold (# participants) where the drop down disappears and  textbox appears. We set this to 1000 (I think) and had problems with performance, we've now got it at its default.

Hi all

Now that Sign-up is core has anyone load tested it?

We have a site with 1000 students and they want to use Sign-up rather than Section Info - good idea/ bad idea?
