[Building Sakai] New to list and working on rebranding our gateway/portal

Hi:

I'm working on revamping our portal - starting with the gateway

I'm been using the 22 page document:  Changing the Appearance of the 2.8 Portal and Tools

I've been working on the portal.css file in the skin we are currently using

I tried searching through the email archives for this list, but it's a bit cumbersome with no search function, I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction or tell me which Archive I need to scan.

I'm trying to figure out what the actual page is that gets modified, since we want to move some things around and enter text without using the Sakai Tools, since they show that title area, which we don't want to display.

I've seen other schools custom sites but I don't know where to look for the pages on our server to make modifications.  I have been searching for a few days now.
