I have an installed rSmart 2.8 Sakai on a local Centos 6.0 system, and want to install 2.9 to get started in learning how to build things.
I see that the Confluence instructions say to install a clean tomcat 7.0.21. rSmart has its own local version of 5.5, and Centos package installer offers only version 6. So, is it correct then that I cannot use the current Centos version, but need to get 7.x, and it won't clash with the rSmart local (subdirectory) installed version?
Can I run the new version on an alternate port temporarily, or is this troublesome and I should only run one at a time - or should I just clean out all of rSmart and start from scratch?
I like keeping it even in they run mutually exclusively, as a reference version, but wonder if they both might assume they own configuration files like /etc/apache2, ...etc.
