Sorry I just went through the steps again and the sakai:htmlInclude property were not there, I must have forgotten to click on save.

Sounds like you followed all the steps listed in the README.txt file - do you recall which Kernel patch I might have referred to (sorry, I don't recall)? We might want to make sure it's in the version of Sakai you have (is that 2.8.0 or something later)? You might also take a look at the javascript console with something like Firefox/Firebug to see if there are any obvious errors.
