[Building Sakai] pda portal tracking site usage

Perhaps this is addressed more modern version of Sakai (currently on 2.7.x)
but there is an interest on our campus to track student use.   The
"presence" event in the logs provides some info that the student has been
there, but of course this is bypassed in the pda portal.  Any
recommendations on how the create an event in the log for a student using
pda portal that at least registers that they've been in the course.
