I thought I would pass this on to open up discussion:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We asked iParadigms:

[....] please could you let me know what the progress is on the development of the new TII API, and what date you envisage it will be available.

We need to plan what aspects of the current Sakai integration we should work on, and schedule when we will be able to test against the new TII API.

Also just a reminder that the EuroSakai conference is taking place in Paris next week (28-30 Jan), and our team will be organising a 'Birds of a Feather' session to talk about the Sakai Assignments tools 1 and 2. It would be good to have more concrete information about the new TII API and what the improvements will be.

They responded:

Progress has been very good and the new API is still currently scheduled to be launched towards the end of next month/beginning of March. However we will not be re-writing the Sakai integration against the new API as such, we will be writing an LTI component (IMS global standard) for the new Sakai integration and this is in the plan for this summer! So in around 6 months time. I hope this will fit into your plans as we would advise against doing any custom work, due to our plans for LTI with a view to release in the summer.

Unfortunately that probably won't be possible to send someone. I can still speak to the team though and let you know otherwise if we can. I am at the BETT show on those dates so won't be able to attend.

I hope this helps.

Regards
Mark
