[Building Sakai] Avoid session expiration via restful

I think it would be fine to fix /direct with the right kind of parameter.   I would like to see a parameter that explicitly asked for session to be extended rather than the default being to extend the session and a parameter being required to explicitly request the session be extended.

The the portal could switch and use this too.

We should make a JIRA for this.

Steve if you want to run with this it is OK - If Francisco wants to do a patch that is OK too - or I could do it.  Whatever :)
