[Building Sakai] annotation and notetaking tools

Hi Diego

Thanks for getting back to me. The tool is required primarily for students to create notes as they navigate their way around content. So  should capture text that is highlighted and allow user to create comments, notes  etc. This app should then allow them to save their new notes as separate docs (and  ideally should also allow an automatic reference to the page they’re reading )or the annotated page as a separate doc. Much like the Scribble app or any other pdf annotator.
Hope this makes sense.

Can you define better the functionality you want in that annotation tool?

We have one that we call annotation tool, but surely the behavior is  not what you want. Our tool allows teacher to make annotations about the students in the course. Annotations can be shared with the student or private only for the teacher. So teacher can have a “log” of their students and can communicate with them too.

Just wondering if there’s been other developments other than the Project Pad  by NorthWestern university(which focusses more on audio and video).
