Yeah, thanks, I'd heard about it in passing from some colleagues but
hadn't taken a real look before.

The problem with the git repositories is that you need to use
something else to pull them all together as there isn't any automatic
processing of svn externals when you import it into a git repository.

We locally use git-submodules but the submodule model is very
different from svn:externals.

repo from the android project is a possible alternative but it's not perfect.
