[Building Sakai] Question on displaying JIRA filters in Confluence

I want to use the jiraissues macro in Confluence to display a JIRA filter, however when I view the page the jiraissues says there are no issues. I logged out of JIRA and tried the URL to the filter and it said I didn't have access to it.

I'm guessing it is that I must not have the JIRA filter shared. Apparently I don't have permissions to create a shared object, as those options don't show up when I edit the filter I created.

Is there a way to display a list of JIRA issues (like from a filter) without having that permission? I'm trying to avoid having to maintain a long list of individual jiraissues stacked on top of each other.

Thanks,
  Brian
