au contraire David!

As a matter of fact, at the Sakai Conference in Atlanta, Blackboard paid for about $800 worth of singing+beer+snacks :) Of course my travel reimbursement is not completely through the Blackboard approval process yet so *I* might end up paying for the singing personally. I think $3000 of steaks might be slowing the reimbursement process down a bit :)

And at the recent IMS Learning Impact conference in Toronto which was the first I attended representing Blackboard, the *only* Blackboard task I was given was to arrange for an evening of Karaoke for the attendees. I was privately told by a colleague at Blackboard that my Blackboard boss (the person who would be approving my travel expenses) would be *very disappointed* if I failed to arrange for suitable Karaoke at that meeting. I was successful and it turns out she is a great singer and indeed does love Karaoke (as should everyone).

So Blackboard is defiantly pro-singing. For the upcoming Balckboard developer conference July our party won't include singing - it will be a vampire/zombie/mad scientist costume party / contest. Trying to decide between mad scientist and vampire. When I wake up in the morning, my hair is a perfect winning costume for mad-scientist but I am leaning toward a tuxedo-wearing suave vampire.

:)

/Chuck
