[Building Sakai] 2.8.0 announcements are not sorting in descending order

If it is a clean install then you don't need the conversion scripts.

If you want to preserve data in your database and upgrade from 2.8.0 to 2.8.1, then you need to run the conversion on your db, then startup 2.8.1 pointing at that same database.

To perform any form of integration though (even the simplest kind) you don't want the binary release, you want the source version, however that invokes a few extra steps (building and deploying)
