Aah, excuse my question about this being a part of 2.9, I can see this is not yet ready and 2.9 is already in QA. I just added my +1 for 2.10 though.

Hi,
We also had this need and logged it locally and pointed to this issue
https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAK-5830

so if SAK-15832 is a patch, should someone make SAK-5830 a duplicate?

The notes say this doesn't work in 2.5 but does in 2.7 (though it could be improved to deal with "Cancel" better). We will see if this works in our 2.6 instance, but is this going to be part of 2.9 when we upgrade?

Hi Matthew,

This is worth reviving. Moodle allows you to enrol on a course when you hit it and Sakai looks a bit clunky in comparison.

I'll check out the patch. Thanks for the response.

Adrian.

If you try and navigate directly to a joinable site (one you've not
joined yet) using a HOST/portal/site/SITEID type url, you get dumped
into the 'site unavailable' site. It would make more sense to show a
screen indicating that it is a joinable site and asking if the user
would like to join it. Or, the act of navigating to it directly could
imply a join request, so they in fact get auto joined?

Does anybody know of a JIRA for this? I'm presuming there is one.

Cheers,
Adrian.
