[Building Sakai] Setting up Sakai in Eclipse

David, 


Just to be safe, make sure you: 




    * Have all of the environment variables set. 
    * Settings are all correct for Tomcat and Maven. 



What command are you running to clean, install and deploying to maven? 


As a last restort, I would try to backup your original tomcat installation and: 




    * Download a fresh copy of tomcat and try to deploy again.
