[Building Sakai] Example how to use LTI Basic Outcomes Service

Hi all,

I hope that one of you can help me. I want to work with Basic LTI to:

1.       Open from Sakai (TC) an assignment in my Tool Provider

2.       When the assignment is done to save the outcome from my Tool Provider in Sakai

According to the documentation this is possible (http://www.imsglobal.org/developers/LTI/test/v1p1/index.php).
So actually it is LTI v.1.1. The word Basic is since this year removed.
This most likely is the reason why I cannot find any information how to realize step 2: getting the outcomes back into Sakai. I'm working with Sakai 2.8. The assumption I'm now starting to make is that this version is working with LTI v1.0, Basic LTI that only support step 1. Which means without outcomes!

Am I right with my assumption or should Sakai 2.8 also already work with LTI v.1.1, should it work with outcomes? And if Sakai 2.8 works with outcomes can one of you then share with me an example how to establish the handshake?

Advice is appreciated.
