[Building Sakai] quartz and hibernate

Hi All,

Is there documentation somewhere on how to programmatically fire off a custom quartz job in Sakai (2.4) ?
I'm wanting to take an object after a user has uploaded it, pass it to a job in a jobdatamap and process it in a background thread.

I wrote a job that extends JobDetailBean but came across issues with spring injection and adding a hibernate interceptor to start a new hibernate session.

Is there a sakai way of doing this, or has someone done this type of thing in sakai before?

Thanks,
James
