[Building Sakai] Archiving Sakai Events & Sessions in Sakai 2.7.x

I am interested to see what peoples recommendations for cleaning up the 
Sakai Events & Sessions tables are in Sakai 2.7.x with a MySQL Database.

I have found the following information from the University of Michigan 
where they have a great document describing the Managing of Session and 
Event Archives in there environment.

I was wondering if there are some best practices for getting this done, 
or some standard sakai scripts out there for achieving this.
