[Building Sakai] Announcements SAK-21015 question

Is there a reason you don't want to use the 2.8.x branch of Announcements?
 There are several fixes in 2.8.x related to regressions introduced in
2.8.0.  Another major regression was that announcement emails set to be
released at a later date were being sent immediately.
