[Building Sakai] What is nuskin?

Hi all,

Does anyone know what nuskin is? I see a bunch of velocity templates for it in various projects (some called neoskin, some called nuskin), and presumed it was for the neo portal. Except I am running the neoportal and making changes to the 'default' velocity templates and 'default' skin css and it is working (see screenshot below - added choice.vm, all good).

Also, I see skins for various neo- incarnations, but none called nuskin. Is this just a left over artifact from the neoportal work? If so, can it be removed?

 I can't find any reference to it in Jira or on the dev list either.
