[Building Sakai] SAML 2.0 Authentication

Is there a suggested approach to performing authentication with a SAML 2.0
identity provider? I've found a bit about using Apache httpd[1] but would
prefer to not have an Apache front end. I found some info about this[2] but
it appears to need some extra code that I can't find. Any deployments out
there than can share some information?
