[Building Sakai] Question about how to insert data from SIS into Sakai

Dear all,

We want to implement Sakai as our learning management software, but also we already have SIS running,
The following data is defined in SIS :

-          Course taken by student

-          Course taught by lecturer

-          Student data

-          Lecturer data
As far as I can understand, Sakai run based on the above data.

I have questions, could all gurus here please help .. :


1)      How can I know into which Sakai database table should I insert the above data ?



2)      Should I insert it directly using SQL Command or should it be via API ?



3)      Where can I find data dictionary of all Sakai tables definition ?
