[Building Sakai] Has Sakai 2.8.1 Been Released

Are there any news regarding the release state of Sakai 2.8.1?

sakai-2.8.1 has been tagged but has not yet been approved as an official release by the TCC.  When that occurs an announcement regarding the release will be issued.
