[Building Sakai] OAE 1.0.1 webstart blank content

I've just installed Sakai OAE 1.0.1 using the jnlp file (webstart), and it works great locally, but I cannot access it from any other machine.  I don't get an error or a completely blank page - I can see the layout, but no content.  Anyone else seen this?   Is this a browser setting issue?  I've tried in Chrome, Firefox and Safari with the same results in all 3.
