[Building Sakai] Sakai DB help

Hi Everybody,

It may be a very easy one but i am new to sakai.

I have created a table inside sakai mysql database (ie. sakai_user_pw_map).
I want to insert data to these table from the UserAction class.
How can i accomplish that? Is there any class which can give me a connection
object?

I am not using hibernate for this particular purpose. I am using java sql
package. If u can, please provide a small code snippet.
