[Building Sakai] autosave

If you're thinking of possible features in coming
versions of Sakai, excuse a probably naive request, as
there may already be solutions to this problem.

We're in the process of rolling over a lot of questions
into a pool for a vocabulary test. Through a roundabout
procedure via dumping questions through several stages,
including Excel, I was able to do so earlier, but it
involved reopening every question and reworking the
format, which was incredibly time-consuming. I would
have expected Sakai to be able to swallow a file done
in Office (Word) and keep much of its formatting, or to
provide some sort of template that could be reasonably
filled via e.g. Excel.

A previous request to the Sakai lists a year ago led to
confirmation that there was no easy way to import
hundreds of questions en masse. Did I miss something?
Or is there an obvious third-party solution that
creates and formats test questions and rolls them over
into T&Q in Sakai? As my programming skills are
non-existent, I need an out-of-the-box solution that
doesn't involve writing dedicated scripts or the like.

T & Q offers a major chance for students to practice
basic skills, and at least here at SU I think it is
grossly underused, not least because it's so hard to
put Q into it quickly and easily.

Yrs,
