[Building Sakai] batchWrite property

Does anyone have experience or recommendations on the batchWrite
property<https://confluence.sakaiproject.org/display/DOC/Sakai+Properties+Reference+-+B#SakaiPropertiesReference-B-batchWriteATorg.sakaiproject.event.api.EventTr...>which
can be added to sakai.properties?

batchWrite at org.sakaiproject.event.api.EventTrackingService

I'm interested in learning what it does exactly and how to set it. Do I set
it to 'true' or do I set it for an amount of time to batch the events? I'm
looking into it to find ways to reduce load on the database.
