[Building Sakai] Local branch of purepoms?

For those of you running 2.7 or 2.8, do you have a local branch of purepoms?

I'm concerned about different indie tools pulling in different versions 
of kernel if I don't branch them all and point them at a local purepoms 
which points at the same kernel as my master/pom.xml. This goes for the 
other services with versions specified in purepoms: entitybroker, 
common, and edu-services.
